Handley Woman in Media: Panel Discussion

You’ve seen them reporting the news on TV; now see them LIVE on the big screen at the Handley Library auditorium discussing their lives since graduating from Handley and their exciting careers in broadcast media and other media pursuits.

Lauryn Ricketts, Handley Class of 2001, was a well-loved Broadcast Meteorologist with StormTeam4 and WTOP 103.5FM in Washington D.C. before departing in 2022 for a two-year stint abroad with her family. Prior to joining StormTeam4, Lauryn served as chief meteorologist at WHSV in Winchester and also worked at WRIC in Richmond, at WTTG and WJLA in Washington, and at WMAR and WBFF in Baltimore. Lauryn will be joining the panel on June 10th from her present home in Europe.

Kara Dixon, Handley Class of 2010, is the Deputy Director of Video Production for the Senate Democratic Media Center for the US Senate in Washington, D.C. Previously, Kara spent eight years as a TV news reporter at KFDM/KBTV in Beaumont, Texas and at WAVY-TV in Hampton Roads, Virginia. Last summer, Kara was awarded a regional Emmy for her work at WAVY.

Allegra Zamore, Handley Class of 2014, joined the NBC 10 News team in Providence, Rhode Island in September 2022 as a multimedia journalist. Previously, Allegra served as the central Maine bureau chief at WABI-TV in Bangor, Maine and later became an evening anchor and reporter with the station.
